The second half of the Festival double header that comes to Swift Current every summer solstice, is the Long Day’s Night Music Festival.  With past acts that include such fun dance party ensembles as Skavenjah, and the Mudmen (who’s show coincidentally occurred during a lot of rain and a lot of mud), this year looks like it’s going to be a lot more of the same, including, for the first time ever, an extra night of music on the Sunday!

Rain or shine, mud or mire, the music never stops at Long Days Night – and while the weather has offered challenges in the past, organizers have always come up with ways around it.  Their motto truly is:  The Show Must Go On!

I can tell you over and over how great the bands featured at Long Day’s Night are…OR I can show you!  And with the knowledge that it’s much easier to show that it is to tell…here’s the bands that will be featured this year: (Enjoy!).

THURSDAY – JUNE 21st…YUKON BLONDE – WATER (Let’s hope there’s none on Thursday night!)

FRIDAY – JUNE 22nd – Delhi to Dublin – TOMMY (THIS is the band I’m most looking forward to!).

SATURDAY – JUNE 23rd – JORDAN COOK – BICYCLE

SUNDAY – JUNE 24th – ELLIOTT BROOD – NORTHERN AIR (with all the rain we’ve been having I’m about ready for some “southern” air).
